Are you the volunteer who would like to assist at Primadomus?
AAP foundation is a refuge centre for neglected and discarded apes and small exotic mammals. The animals come from the illegal trade, circuses and private ownership. At AAP the animals receive the care and living space they deserve, so that they can revert to their natural behaviour and are once again able to live normally with their congeners. For animals which cannot be relocated the foundation arranges permanent refuge in, amongst other locations, our Lifetime Care Centre AAP Primadomus in Villena near Alicante (Spain). The first group of 9 chimpanzees has already been established and in the near future there will be space for more primates.
For this Spanish settlement we are looking for a committed and enthusiastic volunteer (40 hours per week for a period of four to six months)
For this function we seek a volunteer who would like to work in our Lifetime Care Centre AAP Primadomus.
Our animals and their care
You are part of a team of about five people. You help with the care of the animals, including cleaning their facilities and feeding and observing them. You assist in the kitchen with the preparation of the food, and also with the making of enrichement for the chimpanzees. On top of that, you may be asked to lend a hand with other tasks, such as minor technical maintenance, taking care of the terrain and/or some office work.

Qualifications/Experience:
We are looking for a volunteer who
Has affinity with the aims and objectives of AAP Primadomus * is able to work independently and as a team member * is able to work methodically and hygienically * it is in good physical condition, able to undertake (heavy) physical labour * agrees with the foundation’s hands-off policy * is willing to work on weekends * speaks English * has the driving licence.

Volunteer, no salary
