PostDoc position in cognitive neuroscience

The Max-Planck-Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences is offering a PostDoc position for 2 years plus extension option on a longitudinal research project investigating brain maturation and functional development in children using several MR techniques.

The successful candidate will have prior experience with fMRI and DTI and is interested in further applying and combining both methods. He or she will share our enthusiasm in problems of brain maturation and its connection to concurrent changes in language development. The successful candidate has already demonstrated expertise in the field of functional and diffusion imaging by high-quality publications. Experience in the research areas of language processing or developmental neuroscience is desirable but not required. The candidate should have a strong background in functional and structural imaging methods, hands-on experience in problems of data and statistical analysis, and interest to co-supervise PhD and Master students. The position offered does not include teaching obligations.

The research will be conducted at the MPI in Leipzig, Germany, an internationally leading center for cognitive and imaging neuroscience equipped with a 7T MRI scanner, three 3T MRI scanners, 306 channels MEG system, TMS system and EEG labs. All facilities are supported by experienced IT and physicist staff members. Our institute offers a very international environment, with English and German being the languages spoken in the laboratories.
