Position Summary:
The Department of Biological Sciences seeks outstanding candidates to apply for a tenure-track Assistant Professor faculty position starting in August, 2013.
     We seek a researcher with experience and scholarly achievements in cellular and systems neuroscience.
Interdisciplinary candidates who work on non-mammalian model systems and use genetic, functional genomics or proteomics approaches to understand neurophysiological processes are of special interest.
     Consideration will also be given to applicants at a higher rank who have demonstrated research accomplishments and an appropriate level of academic excellence. Women and members of under-represented minorities are strongly encouraged to apply.

Qualifications:
Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in biology or related field and possess a strong enthusiasm and a demonstrated ability to teach. Outstanding candidates should have focused research interests with proven experience and scholarly accomplishments. Successful candidates will be expected to sustain a strong externally-funded research program in their areas of specialization and should be eager to collaborate with colleagues from related disciplines.
    At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
