2 post-doc positions, Human, non human primate, Centre de Recherche Cerveau et Cognition, Toulouse

1- Post-doc fellowship in Yves Trotter team, human research

Centre de Recherche Cerveau et Cognition, Toulouse, France

Starting date: February – march 2013

A postdoctoral research position is available in the team of Yves Trotter, Space and 3D context (http://www.cerco.ups-tlse.fr) in Toulouse. The position is related to the study of visual processing optimization by postural and navigation cues in the peri-personal space. This project will test the hypothesis that objects located in behaviourally relevant portions of space, either 2D or 3D, receive a privileged visual processing as a result of the combination of different sensory channels in both static (posture) and dynamic spatial contexts (navigation).

To approach this topic of posture and navigation in the near and front space in humans, complementary methodologies will be used: psychophysics, visual evoked potential and fMRI.

The applicant should hold a solid background in visual neuroscience and skills with matlab. Other programming and statistics competencies will be appreciated.

The location of the laboratory is in the Center of Research Brain and Cognition in the Institute of brain Sciences of Toulouse that houses a technical platform (fMRI dedicated to research, EEG, oculography).

The city of Toulouse is an attractive city with high quality of life located in the south west of France.

The position is for 2 years with standard French salaries. Applications should be sent to yves.trotter [ chez ] cerco.ups-tlse.fr including a CV and 2 names of references.

One of the approaches of this topic of posture and navigation in the near and front space will be performed in the behaving monkey using electrophysiological recordings with potential association of fMRI data collected in the primate.

The applicant should hold a solid background in neuroscience and experience in electrophysiologcal recordings, and skills with matlab. Other programming and statistics competencies will be appreciated.

The location of the laboratory is in the Center of Research Brain and Cognition in the Institute of brain Sciences of Toulouse that houses a technical platform, EEG, fMRI dedicated to research in human and non human primates, with a new housing facility meeting the highest standards of European legislation.
